Songs of Summer: A Playlist for Boating

Spring is almost here, which means summer and boating season is right around the corner! We wanted to help you prepare for your upcoming season on the water by helping you compile the perfect boating playlist. Check out the songs below to add to your summertime playlist!

Zac Brown Band – “Toes”

We would like to start off this playlist with a simple recommendation: any Zac Brown Band song is a perfect addition to your boating playlist. What makes this song stand out from the rest? This song is about relaxing with a drink outside on either a beach or a river. It doesn’t matter where you are as long as you are outside and enjoying yourself!

Modest Mouse – “Float On”

We feel as though this song is a no brainer. It’s happy, upbeat and it is about going with the flow! It is a catchy melody and the perfect song to get people in the mood to enjoy themselves. So sit back, relax and enjoy yourself with this jam.

Sheryl Crow – “Soak Up the Sun”

This is one of Sheryl’s older songs but it is a great one! It is a typical early 2000’s song but it’s all about getting some vitamin D. It is the perfect party anthem. It basically tells everyone to leave their worries at the dock. Sit back, relax and crack open a drink and enjoy yourself!

Weezer – “Island in the Sun”

This song is one of Weezer’s more popular tunes and perfectly suited for summer fun and sun. This is one of the better songs to play when you’re pulling up to an island on the lake. It’s mellow, catchy and all about having fun outside! So feel free to put this song on, relax, and soak up some rays with this song playing in the background.

Kenny Chesney – “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems”

If you’re on a boat in the summer time, chances are good that your shirt will be off as you bask in the sun’s rays. If you have just turned off the motor and plan to float along just soaking in the sun, this song is perfect. Kenny Chesney’s mellow country ballad is great to shut your eyes to and just relax.

Van Halen – “Where Have All the Good Times Gone?”

Don’t worry, classic rock fans, we didn’t forget about you! This classic 1982 Van Halen song is a great pump up jam. It’s best played towards the beginning of your journey. It’s simple, catchy and easy-to-remember lyrics.

The Lonely Island – “I’m on a Boat”

We are going to start off this song’s explanation with a simple warning: It is crass. This particular song is a parody and should not be taken seriously. However, if you are looking to cater to a younger crowd, it is the perfect addition to your boating playlist. It combines the musical talents of both Andy Samberg and T-Pain. Trust us: you won’t regret adding it.
